Return next summer for details on Koinonia 2008.

What is the Koinonia Retreat?

Koinonia (coy-no-NEE-uh) is the Biblical Greek term for “community,” which is what the Church is and should be! For our purposes, we are referring specifically to the community of young adults who share a common faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Together we seek to live in such a way that reflects his glory throughout our world. Koinonia acknowledges that Christ established one Church.

By extension, the Koinonia Retreat is an effort to put that Biblical principle into practice among the community of young adult Christians. Our theme this year is “Rock Bottom” (Matthew 7:24-25) as we re-explore the foundations of our faith and the solid rock of Christ upon that faith is built.

Don’t miss this wonderful time to grow closer to and better understand God, rocks, and each other!

Where and when will the Koinonia Retreat be held?

Coastal Empire Christian Camp will be hosting the Koinonia Retreat from September 21st – 23rd, 2007. The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM Friday evening and will formally conclude at 6:00 PM Saturday. See the Directions page for more info on CECC and how to get there!

For those wishing to stick around to enjoy the “afterglow,” we will have informal activities (campfire, snacks) Saturday evening and a worship time together Sunday morning. Those with church duties or other requirements are able to get back home for Sunday worship, while others have the option to remain later.
